Powderhorn Park Housing Competition

The given site is a long and narrow site with the frontal elevation on the main street and theback elevation on an alleyway. The design intent is to create two parts of the house and connect them with a glass stairwell. This creates an internal raised courtyard as a defensible space. The use of materials also reflects this concept by wood siding on the public sides (in keeping with material and scale of neighborhood) and cement board facing the internal courtyard. Thefrontal portion contains living areas while the back is the garage, den, anda roof garden.
