Watching Grass Grow

We decided that we wanted to add grass to the backyard so the past week we dug up the soil, raked it flat, added pavers, seed, and lots of water. We were contemplating sod and but decided to seed due to cost and flexibility. But now I wished I got the sod.

Below is what our backyard looks like now. And no that is not a question mark or the number 9. We ran out of pavers so waiting to get some more to complete the circle for a little sitting area. The seed has been out for 2 days and no grass growing yet, though I check every chance I get.



Speaking of grass, I just recently mowed the front lawn after the rains because it was like a jungle! I had to run the hand mower like 4 times. Below is Rogue hiding in the jungle waiting to pounce.....

Home Opening Day!

Baseball back in the city today! I'm very excited. Hopefully this year we might win some games.

Anyways I thought this list on total baseball payroll was interesting. You can do a total interactive search by players and teams on the USA today website.

I gotta wonder is their a correlation between payroll and making the playoffs. Hmmm..... Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, White Sox? Lets see Angels in 02, Florida in 03, Red Sox in 04, and White Sox in 05? Florida always purges it salaries every few years so hard to compare to this list below. You gotta love the A's who spend nothing, lose their best players to free agency, have a crappy stadium, no fans, and still every freaking year they seem to be in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Giants gotta spend more.
