Baby pictures?

We had another sonogram visit today and here are some more pics of Baby Su! Baby Su is now 19 weeks along and things are looking pretty normal. The first one is a good overall profile where you can see the head and the hand sticking up. The photo almost makes it look like there is a light from above!

The second is a facial profile of Baby. We are electing not to find out what the sex is so we'll all be surprised in July.

If these pics leave you wanting for more, probably not, but for us it always does. Click here to see the .avi that we took during the sonogram!

Here is the latest picture of Gabbie at 18 weeks! Things are moving along and the baby is growing fast. Mom is doing fine beside the usual discomforts.

BTW if you didn't know Gabs is pregnant you sure do now!

Affordable Housing

Here is a link and a pdf file of an advocacy group in Berkeley called the Greenlining Institute that actually advocates instead of just issuing complaints. Their analysis of housing affordability caught my attention when they list community nibyism and environmental fanaticism as some of the main issues why a limit in supply of housing has caused a housing shortage and in turn created a drought in affordable housing. They attack the issue from the supply side and offer solutions that address creating more housing units. I was shocked to see that California is short approximately 1.5 millions housing units and is continuing to be short by 50,000 a year.

They also call for an end to compliant based politics and attitudes that do not address economic and social issues. They look for a proactive solution based attitude that tries to work with the factors and create a fair and equitable climate for all.

Anyways I am very glad to see that a socially progressive group has realized that eco fanatics and trust fund hippies that do not want any development or addition to units are in fact hurting the greater social good that is perhaps more important than saving the spotted frog, easing traffic, and keeping the new "eco" status quo.
