University, San Luis Obispo
Healthcare is a fascinating building type which fuses functional constraints
with a deep spiritual ideal of healing. This medical cmapus composes of
a 30 bed General Hospital with an Outpatient Cancer Treatment Center.
The design process began with a functional analysis of the program, site
planning, and then the Architecture of the building. The concept is to
create an interior courtyard formed by the hospital, which shelters a
healing garden where the nursing tower is located. The main circulation
occurs along the courtyard the facilitate wayfinding.
This project was designed via planning diagrams, site diagrams, study
models, sketches, and then placed into Autocad.
