Camping!
We went camping last weekend up near Eureka where the forests are always green and so are the people. We camped at a place called Grizzly Creek and it was a pretty cool secluded area off the higway in a valley where it sheltered us from the wind. Camping contained the usual sitting around, hiking, burning, and of course foil dinners.
We also ran up to Eureka for the day to eat at The Samoa House, which is an old eating house for the lumberjacks back in the day. That part of California is still heavy in logging and by the looks of things is the only real industry up there still. This was a family style place where you ate as much as you can and they keep bringing out the meat, sides, and desert until your done. Yikes.
During our hike, a tree fell down across the trail. So naturally I went over and just picked it up out of the way.
Here is a pic of our silly kitty Rogue. He gets larger day by day and likes to play in bags.
